Man, this stuff is scary. I tried googling to see who it is that's really pushing for an orphan works bill as I've never heard that there was a huge problem until they tried to create legislation for it. I did stumble across a blog where the guy starting tracking some money given to the main reps behind the bills. With all the back and forth I'm reading all over the net there really isn't really any reason to totally change copyright law for the sake of so called orphan works.

Very scary article indeed!
It's nice to know that how our government operates is not nearly as mysterious as I once believed.
It seems that much of the red tape of capitol hill can be circumvented with green paper...
All I can say is that if my senators and congresswoman vote in favor of this little demon, I will make it my mission for all to know about it. I will do my level best to make their re-election a most troublesome task. >:^<
